HAES Australia Leadership 

HAES Australia is led by a group of dedicated volunteers, who share a commitment to Health At Every Size® principles and strong governance.  The Management Committee, Steering Committee and Lived Experience Advisory Board work together to ensure that HAES Australia is achieving its aims of supporting and connecting HAES® practitioners and raising awareness of weight neutral, non-diet, client centred practice among health professionals and the general community.

HAES Australia Management Committee

The Management Committee is responsible for the overall management of HAES Australia and consists of the President, Treasurer, and Secretary, who each serve a one-year term.  All verified provider members of HAES Australia are eligible to nominate for a leadership position and vote in annual elections.  The Management Committee meet monthly, or as needed. All leadership positions apart from those on the Lived Experience Advisory Board are unpaid roles.

Louise Adams (President)

Louise is a clinical psychologist and the creator of UNTRAPPED. She has written two books, 'Mindful Moments' and 'The Non-Diet Approach Handbook for Psychologist and Counsellors' (with Fiona Willer, APD). She has been practicing in this field for more than 20 years. Louise is a Member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS), and a member of the Clinical College of the APS.

Meg McClintock (Treasurer)

Founder and Principal Dietitian at Choose Nutrition, Meg works with children and families, empowering families to overcome challenging eating behaviour, clinical and sensory concerns. Meg works collaboratively with other health professionals to treat disordered eating and eating disorders for people of all ages. 

HAES Australia Steering Committee

The Steering Committee brings a wide range of provider, public health, not-for-profit and business skills, expertise and knowledge to HAES Australia.  Its role is to guide the direction of HAES Australia and work with the management committee to make strategic decisions, lead sub-committees, and complete projects.  Steering Committee members are recruited by a direct invitation from the Management Committee.  The Steering Committee meet four times a year, or as needed.

Dr Fiona Willer

Dr Fiona Willer (AdvAPD, PhD, FHEA, MAICD) is an Australian dietitian, academic, educator, non-executive board director and health advocate with a long career straddling higher education, and the nonprofit and private sectors. Her academic research involves health consciousness, dietary quality and the integration of weight-neutral lifestyle approaches (including Health at Every Size®) into healthcare practice and she is the creator of the innovative Unpacking Weight Science professional development podcast. Fiona currently serves on the board of Dietitians Australia and has previously served on the boards of HAES Australia and the Association for Size Diversity and Health (ASDAH).

Fiona Sutherland

Fiona works with Dietitians & health professionals to bring body and food healing messages to the world. With 20 years of experience in Eating Disorders, Body Image & Counselling Skills, Fiona is committed to Mindfulness & Self Compassion practices that help both the practitioner and client.

Natasha Korbut

Natasha is a personal trainer with a background orthotics and prosthetics. She is passionate about helping people rediscover exercise in fun and exciting ways, and is all about functional fitness and injury prevention.

Susan Williams

Susan works with adults and children with disordered eating, body image and weight concerns. Susan practises in a client centred, non-diet manner. 

Dr Carolynne White

Carolynne is an occupational therapist and Participation and Engagement Advisor at Mind Australia and an Equally Well ambassador. Carolynne has over 15 years experience working with adults with mental and physical health conditions and enabling people to participate in the activities and occupations that are important to them. Carolynne's role focuses on supporting consumer and family and carer participation at Mind Australia. Carolynne is a member of Occupational Therapy Australia and serves on the Mental Health National Reference Group.

Shelley Lask

Shelley is a personal trainer and speaker who is passionate about both empowering people to be physically active, fit and strong in ways that are meaningful and enjoyable to them, and working with her colleagues to make the fitness industry more inclusive and responsible.

Janet Lowndes

Janet is a Psychologist with over 25 years experience providing therapy, training and consultation. She is Senior Psychologist and Director of Mind Body Well, a therapy practice in Melbourne assisting people with eating disorders and concerns about eating behaviours and body image from a Health at Every Size perspective. Janet is also a professionally trained supervisor, providing support to Psychologists and other health professionals.
